It's all happening September 6th to 9th, 2018 in Port Hood, Nova Scotia on Cape Breton Island!
When was the last time you took a break?
Like a real break - for YOU?
We're all so busy. Ask someone how they are doing they'll likely say "Busy! Life's just, busy!" Women are real world superheroes. Caretakers, career women, friends, volunteers, mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, movers, shakers and change makers.
We grew up being told "you can do anything!" but heard, "you have to do everything." We give a lot of our energy away but don't recharge. It's all so much that we forget what makes us happy and don't take time to be still, listen to our intuition and do what actually feels good. To create something for the sake of creating. Before long we find ourselves drained, burned out and resentful. Never getting outside, neglecting our needs and pushing harder. We can feel alone and isolated even when we are surrounded by people.
It's time to hit pause.
Sometimes the only answer is to step away. Unplugging is necessary. So is connecting with other women to share our stories, frustrations, wins, losses, ideas and experiences. To get a fresh take on something. To know we are not alone. To try something new and stretch ourselves, physically and mentally.
Creative Soul Weekend is a seaside retreat for women who crave space to slow down, connect and create.
A low-key weekend with 7 other women that leaves a big impact on the soul. It's about being in nature, finding your people and trying your hands at something new. It's proof that when you take a break, even a small one, magical things can happen. The burnout is real and we don't want that for you. We are committed to helping you get back in touch with you!
Past years, we've had paint nights, art derbys, dyed silk scarves by the seaside, made jewellery, meditated, shared stories by the fire, shot arrows, swam in the moonlight and rested. Hard.
We've seen first-hand the power of women gathering, friendships made, business ideas hatched and people learning something new. Often times about themselves. We're real. We don't claim to know it all. We're here to share our experiences with you and plan the whole weekend so you don't have to do. So scratch that off your to do list!
Besides the space and time to rest, inspiration to get creative, a little beach therapy and new friendships, your weekend will include:
- Accomodation for 3 nights - as close to the beach as you can get in the sweetest beach front cabin you ever did see. It has all the comforts of home (plus an outdoor shower and fire pit) The perfect setting for our seaside getaway.
- Meals and Snacks (but BYOB) - (*With the exception of Saturday night's meal where we will have reservations at Clove Hitch Bar and Bistro. - This night out was a highlight from last year's weekend)

- A welcome gift to thank you and help in making your weekend that much more special.

Here's How the Weekend will Look:
3pm and on - This is always a fun evening. We all arrive any time after 3pm and just in time to share a meal and start getting to know each other. You'll get settled in, meet the other women, explore the area, maybe hit up the beach and be treated to one of Port Hood's stellar sunsets.
Morning: Mornings are easy at Creative Soul Weekend. No need for alarm clocks - unless you want an early morning dip in the ocean! As we wake up and get going we'll each make our own breakfast. The fridge will be fully stocked with all the best morning favorites.
10am - Yoga and Wellness Discussion led by Danielle Bryson, Black Stove Studio. Danielle will lead us in a restorative yoga practice to go inwards, stretch out any anxiety and stress and really embrace the weekend ahead. And, as an advocate for mental health, community building and healing through self care, Danielle will initiate a conversation around arming ourselves with skills for wellness.
Bonus Add-on! Danielle will also be offering private sessions of Reiki, Yoga Nidra or Relaxation Massage for those who would like to add this extra treat to their weekend. (This is an additional cost to the Creative Soul Weekend registration but we can guarantee will be well worth the splurge!
Afternoon: We don't make the weekends too structured. Part of the whole concept of Creative Soul Weekend is so you can take some time to do what YOU want. Some people take a nap, some journal, go for a walk on the trails, read, paint, draw or sit on the beach chatting and watching the waves. Whatever feels good, do it!
* If you book a private session with Danielle they will be happening in the afternoon.
Evening: Fire Starter Sessions Introduction Workshop with Emily Rankin. The Fire Starters Sessions is a soulful and practical guide to creating success on your own terms created by Danielle LaPorte. As a licensed Fire Starter Facilitator Emily will offer a sampling by guiding you through The Burning Questions, we'll talk about making stuff that feels good to make, figure out what business you're really in, see your own light and help you create your Stop Doing List.
Then we have the rest of the evening to do as we please.
Perfect time for us to get together for an Art Derby, bonfire, night time beach walk or more art making and laughs at the house. That's the beauty about keeping it small - we can make it what we want :)
Morning: Your time! Breakfast, beach, visit to the nearby art gallery, you get the idea.
1pm: Art Journaling, Creativity, and Intention Setting Workshop with Robin Scott, The Diary of an Empath. A social worker and writer for empaths, Robin will lead us in a sample of her Empowered Empath Course, on the Sacral Chakra (our creativity center!). We will discuss how we give our creative power away to others. We will make a small vision board and do some dream journalling and then talk power dynamics and how to work with the non-physical to take our power back and manifest what it is we are wanting for our lives.
** Check out an interview we did with Robin here.
Supper: Ladies Night Out. We'll have reservations at The Clove Hitch Bar (*This meal is not included in your registration)

Be prepared for hugs, contact detail exchanges and a bittersweet feeling as we close out the weekend, say good bye and make our way back home a little more rested and a whole lot more, ourselves.
