Today on the blog, we'd like to tell you a little bit about the teachers who are joining us this year at the Creative Soul Weekend, and to explain just what the heck a Sound Essence Bath is. (It's going to be amazing.)
Natascha Polomski & Michelle Greenwell
Sound Essence Bath
Friday night, 7-9 PM
Natascha Polomski is a Singing Bowl specialist who offers healing and relaxation opportunities through the frequencies of the Ancient art of Singing Bowls. Michelle Greenwell is an author, choreographer and CAM specialist who delights in helping people to move better and sharing her expertise for energizing tips and tools. Together they have created a set of tea blends to also assist the body with rejuvenation and manifestation, these are known as Intend2RaeD8 Teas. Natascha and Michelle have combined efforts for this retreat bringing us the Sound Essence Bath. Natascha will shower us with the tones of the Singing Bowls, Gong, Hapi drum, and Koshi's in combination with Michelle manifesting new possibilities and dream building using the Sound Essence Mists - special misters that bottle sound and color and infuse the room with essential oil scents which energize and rejuvenate the Meridians, Elements, Chakras, Auric Field and more. A perfect way to start off the weekend!
Saturday morning, 10-11 AM
We were very lucky to have Lindsay as our yoga teacher in 2015 and we are excited to welcome her back for another amazing session. She is no stranger to the area, having grown up in Port Hood and now travels the Island teaching classes in Baddeck, Inverness, Port Hood and Sydney. Lindsay loves taking her practice outside and has been offering morning and sunset beach classes all Summer. She will be leading us in our very own outdoor session (fingers crossed for good weather!) Saturday morning. We couldn't think of a better way to start the day!
Melinda MacDonald of Melinda by the Sea
Paint Night Party
Saturday night, 7-9 PM
Melinda MacDonald operates traveling paint classes in local bars, restaurants, homes and for community events . They are guided step-by-step classes for the absolute beginner who wants to socialize and enjoy some creative time in a stress free, fun atmosphere. When she is not instructing she is working on her own landscape and still-life paintings along with various creative projects which she regularly shares via her Facebook page, Melinda By The Sea, or at www.melindabythesea.com. Melinda lives in Creignish with her husband Scott and their three teenage sons. The Paint Night party will be a fun and relaxed night. Don't worry if you don't consider yourself a painter, all supplies are provided and no experience necessary. This is a fun, creative evening with paint, cocktails & friends!
Ann Schroeder and Charlotte Miller
Fabric Dyeing by the Sea
Sunday afternoon, 12:30 - 4 PM
Ann and Charlotte immigrated to Cape Breton from Boston in 2007 and have never looked back. They designed their own house and their new garage. Ann dyes and prints fabric for her fine art quilts, which are inspired by local landscapes, weather, and music. She enjoys helping others play with colour to dye scarves. She rarely gets tired of fiddle music and is learning to chord on the piano.
Charlotte, who will help with the workshop, edits maps for college history textbooks, sings, and grows everything from eggplants to tomatillos in their huge vegetable garden.
For this workshop, we will be visiting the neighbouring village of Mabou to experience fabric dyeing by the sea at Ann Schroeder's seaside studio. You will get to create your own one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art to take home with you!
